The 2022 Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer will be delivered to dealerships in the summer of 2021. These large SUVs are identical in size and very similar in passenger and cargo capacity. But the Grand Wagoneer is the more luxuriously appointed, as the $88,995 price indicates. The Wagoneer is priced at $59,995 for the base model, and when fully loaded, it remains under the $100k price point. The fully loaded Grand Wagoneer will come with a $109,980, but that includes all of the latest and greatest features offered in any SUV in this class.

The Exterior Design

When evaluating the trim packages and the appearance features, the Grand Wagoneer offers many exclusive features and upgrades not available on the Wagoneer. Possibly the most prominent appearance contrast is that the Wagoneer is offered only in silver. But the Grand Wagoneer can be purchased in your choice of Midnight Sky Blue, Rocky Mountain Green, or Ember Red.
Other exterior enhancements to the Grand model include a sporty all-black roof, more detailed LED lights, an exclusive hood, and larger, more defined fender flares. Both vehicles offer multiple wheel options ranging from 18 inches to 22 inches and retractable running boards. However, power running boards are an added option on the Wagoneer but are a standard feature on the Grand Wagoneer.

The Grand Wagoneer steps up the power with a 6.4L V-8 engine. That massive motor creates 471 horsepower and 455 foot-pounds of torque while also offering cylinder deactivation. The Grand includes four-wheel drive as a standard feature and a slightly lower towing capacity at 9,860 pounds. That is a minimal amount, considering the Grand Wagoneer can launch 0 to 60 in six seconds flat.

The Interior Comparison

The interior of the Grand Wagoneer offers more creature comforts and luxury. However, it is essential to note that the Wagoneer is far from a base model SUV. It provides features like leather seating, rear-seat entertainment screens, and a McIntosh sound system. The Wagoneer offers eight-person seating using two rows of bench seating. In comparison, the Grand has second-row captain's chairs for seven passengers. But both have alternate seating options.  Other grand interior features include 24-way power-adjustable seats, four climate zones, and more audio system speakers.
